Teamgee came up with yet another ultra-lightweight electric skateboard that is light enough to carry around. The Teamgee longboard H9 is a lightweight board that can reach fast speeds, which make for a fun and exciting commute.

Sitting in traffic is such a bummer, especially if you are running late for school or work. Good thing there is an alternative way of getting to your destination in a fast and enjoyable manner, and the Teamgee electric longboard can do the job.

What makes the Teamgee H9 electric skateboard worth buying?

Find out as we dig deeper into its specifications and features in this Teamgee H9 Electric Skateboard review.

Speed and Power output

The Teamgee H9 is a powerful electric skateboard. It is equipped with two 480-watt brushless hub motors to provide it with enough power to reach a max speed of 25 miles per hour. This speed is pretty impressive considering the price.

For beginners, riding 25 miles an hour on a skateboard might be too much. Fortunately, the Teamgee H9 allows riders to switch between different riding modes. These riding modes can limit the maximum speed, making it suitable for beginners.

You can quickly switch riding modes with the use of the remote. Riding in the lower gears makes the electric skateboard run more efficiently, saving enough power to reach further distances. Riding the board on turbo mode can cut the maximum distance in half because of the power it consumes to reach that speed.

We were really impressed with how the Teamgee H9 handled steep hills. With its impressive dual motors, it can climb hills at a 25% grade, making it more powerful than the previous Teamgee electric longboard models. Because of its high power and torque, heavier riders would not have to worry much about compromising its speed. They would hardly feel any difference.

Range and Battery Performance

Now, let’s talk about range. The Teamgee H9 can power up for 2 to 3 hours of continuous use on a single charge, which converts to about 11 miles. Frankly, this distance is not as impressive as its speed. If you ride in the higher gears, it can even cut this already poor distance in half. Riders can still, however, use it to ride across campuses and make short commutes to the nearest coffee shop or grocery.

Design & Construction Quality

This electric skateboard might not reach further distances, but when it comes to design and build quality, this is where the Teamgee H9 shines. Unlike other electric boards, the H9’s thin battery does not take up most of the bottom part of the deck, allowing the manufacturers to add an attractive finish.

The range may have suffered because of the thin battery, but not the design and weight of this Teamgee electric longboard. At first glance, people cannot even tell that it is an electric board with the absence of a massive battery.

‏Deck:

The 38-inch deck features a drop-through design that makes the deck much closer to the ground to add stability. The deck is made out of 10 plies of solid Canadian maple and one ply of fiberglass, making the deck ultra-thin.

The grip tape features a hip and modern design, giving the board a fresh look. The bottom is similar to the Teamgee H5, and you can pick between a variety of different colors.

Wheels:

The 90 mm wheels provide a smooth ride. They are big enough to not feel small bumps and cracks on the sidewalks. Additionally, they are made out of a softer formula of urethane that grips corners without slipping out even when going at max speed.

Trucks:

The Teamgee H9 is equipped with 180mm reverse-kingpin trucks. The bushings have high-rebound for easy control, especially when carving and leaning to turn. You can tighten or loosen the trucks to your preference. Take note that loosening the trucks too much might be dangerous when riding at fast speeds, so make sure you adjust it properly before riding.

Remote Control:

The remote has an ergonomic design where the buttons are placed where you want them to be. It features an acceleration wheel and a safety strap so riders won’t accidentally drop the remote while riding. The remote also has an LCD that displays useful information.

Braking System

This electric skateboard boasts 4 braking modes that are useful to adjust the level of braking intensity. This feature allows riders to choose a level of braking based on their preference. When going at fast speeds, this board decelerates safely before coming to a full stop.

Safety

Because of the different acceleration and braking modes, plus the addition of safety lights, the Teamgee H9 is a relatively safe electric ride for beginners. You can use the included warning light when riding at night so other people, including cars, can see you. Don’t forget to learn how to ride and wear safety gear for additional safety.

Brand & Customer Service

The Teamgee company previously operated as a manufacturer for various electronic components. With their potential and eagerness to expand and take on more significant challenges, they decided to develop their own line of electric rides, such as hoverboards, electric scooters, and now, electric skateboards.

They started to get well-known in the Chinese and Asian markets before they made a name for themselves in western countries like the United States.

Now, the Teamgee research and development team has been working hard to create some of the most innovative electric rides for people to enjoy at an incredibly affordable price.

The Teamgee H9 electric skateboard is just one of the products from their growing line of fantastic electric skateboards.

This Teamgee Electric Skateboard comes with a 90-day warranty. The warranty (1) covers defective parts and offers free repair. If the item is beyond repair, they will offer to replace the product, but they do not do refunds for any type of reason or damage.

Shipping takes 5-8 business days in the United States. If you have questions and concerns about their products, you can contact them through their email address which is [email protected].

Downsides

  • The board can be too flexy for heavier riders
  • Could have used forged trucks for better turning
  • The range is not that impressive
  • No Bluetooth connectivity

Who Should Buy the Teamgee H9 Electric Skateboard?

The Teamgee H9 is for people who are looking for an electric ride that can reach fast speeds at an affordable price. It may not be the fastest electric skateboard in the market, but it is definitely fast enough for its price. It has different riding modes that make it an excellent choice for beginners and pros alike.

It is also an excellent choice for commuters that need something handier and easier to carry when riding a bus or the subway. Some boards have better range, but the Teamgee went with a smaller battery pack to focus on portability.

Final Verdict

Overall, the Teamgee H9 is a decent electric skateboard considering its price range. Compared to high-end models, this Teamgee electric longboard can compete in terms of speed and ride quality. The range is a deal-breaker for most riders, but since it can get a full charge in just two hours, riders can still enjoy this electric skateboard no matter what. With the pros outweighing the cons, this electric ride deserves a 4 out of 5 on our stoke meter.
