Imagine the power you get with the same motor of the RazorX Longboard equipped but on a smaller and more portable version. You will surely enjoy a fast and enjoyable ride when commuting or zooming through your favorite skate spots. There is so much more you can do with the RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard, such as skate tighter spots, cruise the sidewalks, and surf the ditches.

This RazorX Electric Skateboard is made to go fast. It features an electrifying kick you can control with the palm of your hand and a plank of wood under the soles of your shoes. If you are in need of a portable machine that could take you to your destination much faster and with so much more fun, you should definitely check out this fantastic Razor product.

The engineers who built this powerhouse machine should definitely be commended for a good job. Riding electric longboards is fun, but riding a tiny cruiser is an entirely different thing. There are so many other tricks you can do with the addition of the kicktail. You are not only limited to carving and cruising; you can also do manuals and ollies too.

In this Razor Electric Skateboard Review, we will embark on a journey to unfold some of the best features you can experience with this fun little electric cruising machine.

Speed and Power Output

The RazorX Cruiser is an electric powerhouse. With the geared rear-wheel-drive 125-watt motor, you can reach speeds up to 10 miles per hour. It might not sound too fast for a longboard, but going 10 mph on a cruiser is an entirely different ball game.

The motor is essentially maintenance-free. The pro-skateboard engineers built the motor without any chains and belts that usually wear out too quickly. Because it was built with gears, no need to worry about alignment issues. All you have to worry about is where to go next.

The motor also features “Soft-Start Technology,” which is virtually a soft kick-to-activate feature. The motor will slowly reach the top speed and will safely come to a stop by using the variable speed control on the remote.

You do not have to worry about falling off due to abrupt acceleration and braking.

Range and Battery Performance

This fun little cruiser can haul some mileage. The 22-volt lithium-ion battery pack powers up the skateboard for up to 40 minutes of continuous use. Going at the top speed, you can reach about 4 to 5 miles on a single charge.

Design & Construction Quality

This RazorX Electric Skateboard showcases a surfboard-style directional board shape and a functional kicktail. The board is made with 5-ply maple. They equipped the deck custom reverse kingpin trucks for better turning and stability and 83mm urethane wheels with an 80a durometer for better grip.

Maple is the best and most durable material that most skateboard manufacturers use for building street skateboards. Keep in mind that these skateboards are used for doing tricks such as dropping flights of stairs and sliding on rails. With that being said, this maple electric cruiser will most likely withstand wear and abuse.

The overall aesthetic is appealing. The color combinations fit well, giving off this minimalistic look that is preferred by most riders who prefer function over physical attributes.

‏Deck:

The deck sports a functional shape that is suitable for riding tighter spots. Because the deck is made out of a 5-ply maple construction, the durability should last for a long time. The black and gritty grip tape combined with the deck’s mild concave will keep your feet secured and locked in the position you prefer. The size is suitable for adults and kids alike.

Wheels:

The 83mm might seem too large for a board this size but, in actuality, it surprisingly fits well with the board. You would expect a little wheel bite if you lean too much on the side, but the board has wheel wells that are deep enough to avoid wheel bite.

Trucks:

The reversed kingpin trucks may also seem a little large for the deck size. Usually, standard kingpin trucks are equipped on a traditional cruiser board setup. Since this is not your ordinary skateboard, the reverse kingpin works better with RazorX’s 125-watt motor. The trucks bushings are very responsive with a high rebound. It gives the rider a better feel for leaning and carving, especially for making tight turns.

Remote Control:

The RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard comes with a 2.4 GHz digital wireless handheld remote. It comes with a wrist strap that prevents you from accidentally dropping it while riding the electric skateboard. It does not have an LCD that displays diagnostics, but it has an LED indicator for remaining battery life.

Braking System

This particular electric skateboard model does not exactly have a brake system. In place of an actual brake lever, is the variable-speed control stick. The variable-speed control system lets you ease into the speeds you want in perfect velocity. If you want to come to a complete stop, pull down the lever and the board will stop slowly.

Safety

This RazorX Electric Skateboard is safe in terms of acceleration and stopping. By pulling your thumb to the position you want, the board will remain at the speed you are comfortable with. Riding at top speed is optional, it is up to you if you want to crank up the lever to the highest position.

Riding a skateboard requires skill and balance. You cannot ensure safety if the rider is inexperienced. The manufacturers, however, try to make their products as safe as possible on their part. On the contrary, the rider should also do their part to ride responsibly and buy the right safety gear.

  • Long charging time

Who Should Buy the RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard?

The RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard is marketed for kids ages 9 and up. However, some of the lighter teens and adults could have a blast on this board as well. It is great for enjoying a short cruise around the block and for riding around campus. It does not really go further than 5 miles, so it is not that ideal for transportation. It is highly recommended for leisure and recreation instead of a means of transportation.

This board is a great budget board that is more suitable for kids and adults under 150 lbs. Although it is marketed to support riders up to 220 lbs, the board speed and durability are compromised if ridden by bigger riders.

Final Verdict

The RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard is stylish, affordable and fun to ride. After testing out the build and its features, I conclude that this is a decent electric board that you can use to get you within a particular radius. It is a fairly great board that has a 4 out of 5 rating.  The fact that it is affordable and has amusing features makes it rank as one of the most notable boards this season.

If you are looking for a portable board that does not hurt the wallet, you should definitely pick this electric board up.
