Are you in the market for an electric scooter that teenagers can use to get from point A to B quickly? Are you in search of a scooter that beginners can practice with to gain mastery over the operation of such a vehicle?

Two electric scooters from Razor are just what you need.

We have done the legwork for you and take pride in presenting the features and qualities that make the Razor E300 and E300S electric scooter worth buying and using on the road. Read on to find out more:

Difference between the Razor E300 and E300S:

The Razor E300S comes with a seat attachment while the E300 is a free-standing e-scooter.

They share similar specifications, except that one can be turned into a seated scooter. This means you get to choose how to ride it, making the Razor E300S slightly more versatile than the E300.

Speed and Power output

Razor’s exceptional speed and power output are impressive. It can reach up to 15 mph, which is quite good for a scooter in this price range. It is portable and fast, based on speed and structure. It is very flexible for small rides or short trips.

The Razor E300 comes equipped with a 250-watt motor which can provide decent performance. The quiet-chain driver motor adds to its quality standards.

Range and Battery Performance

Battery plays an integral part in the operation of an electric vehicle like Razor E300.

This particular model has rechargeable 24V (two 12V) sealed lead acid batteries that require 12-hour charging time to reach full capacity. Even when the indicator turns green, however, it is highly recommended to continue charging up to 24 hours, which is the ideal maximum time to charge the scooter.

Design & Construction Quality

The E300S is built using an all-steel frame and fork that guarantees a solid ride even in a rough environment. Although not recommended for constant use on rugged terrain, it can stand up to the occasional rough treatment.

When it comes to colors, Razor E300S offers you multiple choices. You can choose colors such as grey, blue, or pink. The ‘chunky’ electric scooter, with its super-sized frame and deck and larger tires, is ideal for beginners who are still trying to find their balance and the ability to stay on the scooter for as long as possible. With a flat surface that feels firm and stable underfoot, novice users will zoom past the learning curve.

Materials:

Made of steel and with grips made of rubber, this scooter can support a maximum rider weight of 220 lb (100 kg) while the weight of the scooter is only 19.5 lb (43 kg). For some people, a scooter that weighs close to 20 lb is hardly easy to transport, which can be a dealbreaker for them.

The E300/E300S Razor scooter is suitable for most adults and teenagers. Razor scooter weight limit indicates who can and cannot ride it. If your weight is at an average 130-150 lbs, this scooter is a comfortable and cozy option for you.

Handlebar:

The handlebar is 25-inch high and 16-inch wide.

The general rule is to choose a handlebar with a width and height that are similar to the width of your shoulder and your waist height, respectively.

The height of the handlebar must be just below your waist when you’re standing on your scooter. This ensures a comfortable ride and easy handling.

In the case of the E300, the dimensions will suit someone whose shoulder width is around 16 inches and whose waist height is around 25 inches.

This Razor electric scooter has a very light twist-grip throttle with a hand brake that makes it easy and comfortable for you to keep a firm grip and maintain control.

The handlebar does not have any kind of display, however. There is no easy way to tell how much battery charge is left or at which speed you are going.

Foldable:

The Razor scooter comes with a folding system for easy folding/unfolding of the scooter. It is equipped with a pivoting mechanism that consists of a spring-loaded knob. So make sure to keep your fingers off it when folding or unfolding. Another tip is to make sure others stand clear when you unfold the scooter to an upright position.

The foldability helps to adjust it according to your comfort and preferences. Learning how to unfold a Razor scooter is not exactly rocket science but reading the user manual will be to your advantage.

Seat:

The Razor E300S electric scooter comes with a removable seat attachment, making it easy to switch between seated and stand-up riding. For your comfort, the scooter features a padded seat.

The seat and seat-post combination is built as one piece, so installing and removing it is quick and easy. If you want to turn your scooter into a sit-down model, just quickly attach the seat to the scooter.

Assembly:

Assembly and setup of the Razor E300S seated electric scooter is fairly quick and easy. Since the scooter is shipped fully assembled, you only need to attach a few screws using an Allen wrench.

Follow the instructions specified in the manual and you will be done in no time.

Tires & Braking System

Razor E300 and E300S come with rear tires and a band-brake, which is similar to a drum brake turned inside out. This not only gives you a quality ride but a smooth and quiet one too.

The Razor E300 features a hand-operated brake that is placed on the left-hand side of the handlebar. It offers easy access to the brake system every time you need to stop or slow down. Likewise, for an extra safety precaution, Razor makes sure as the brake is activated, it cuts the power to the motor which, as you can imagine, aids in slowing down the scooter to a safe stop.

Safety

Razor E300S seated electric scooter gives you a complete package, complete with knee pads, helmet, and elbow pads for the protection of its users. Easy navigation and maneuverability features are the main factors in the design so it provides you with great balance.

Moreover, the soft rubber grips are slip-free for added safety. It has a high torque motor for speeds up to 18.64 miles per hour, chain-driven, and an extra-large deck for enhanced stability as well as safety. Furthermore, the scooter is best used on level roads because it wobbles as you start going uphill and on tough surfaces, including the driveway.

Unfortunately, this scooter does not come with lights or reflectors that are most important for night riding. So no riding the Razor scooter when the sun sets, especially in the dark unless you want to purchase and install your own lights and reflectors.

Brand & Customer Service

Razor E300 and E300S are both manufactured by Razor, the leader in building scooters since 2000 when they first rolled out the kick scooter. The company has sold 13 million electric scooters and the brand is trusted by kids, adults, and parents.

Products are sold free of manufacturing defects and are covered with a 90-day warranty for electrically powered products and 180 days or 6 months for non-electric powered products. The warranty takes effect from the date of purchase. Any parts missing when you bought the scooter are also under warranty.

What is not covered is normal wear and tear and any damaged caused by misuse or improper assembly.

You have the option to buy an extended warranty.

Downsides

Razor electric scooters do not come with Bluetooth built into the scooter so you are not able to track the lifetime or ride distance you have covered.

The battery life is not the best and would not be suitable for daily commuters. It is not designed for use in nature either, limiting your destination options when riding it. Then, there is also a problem with the lack of lights for night riding.

Moreover, you cannot fine-tune its speed. It is a choice between full throttle and rapid brake or stops.

Who Should Buy the Razor E300 and E300S Electric Scooters?

The Razor E3000 electric scooter is designed for people aged 13 and over. Teenage students and individuals looking for an easy means to move around will appreciate what this scooter offers. You can also use it for a short commute.

Remember that a single charge only lasts for 40 minutes of continuous use, so adjust accordingly.

If parking is a problem, ride a Razor scooter instead.

The E300 and E300S models are also an ideal electric scooter for teenagers and adult beginners wanting to dip their feet in scooters but do not want to fork out lots of money.

Final Verdict

Razor is, overall, a sleek and stylish modern-age innovation that has minimal impact on the environment while providing you with a smart means of transportation.

It features a robust design that is easy to manage and is affordable, foldable, and durable so it would be suitable for teenagers and adult beginners. Set up and assembly is easy and will not take longer than 5 minutes.

It would have been a great choice if not for the lack of safety features that limit the product’s use and operability.

The lack of speed options between 0 and full, for example, is a dealbreaker for some. Imagine going full stop from full throttle in a downhill ride. Not exactly a smooth stop.

Given its advantages and disadvantages, we give the Razor E300 and E300S a score of 3.3 out of 5.
