What makes an excellent electric skateboard? Different people prefer something over the other. Some people want a durable board that can withstand the test of time and daily use while others want more features.
The Halo Board 2 has the perfect balance of durability, speed, range, and features, which makes this board an excellent candidate for the best electric skateboard in the market today.
If you want to know if the Halo Board 2 has what it takes to become the best electric skateboard there is, find out in this detailed Halo Board 2 review.
Speed and Power output
The Halo Board 2 is equipped with a powerful 3000-watt motor, which allows the board to reach a max speed of 26 miles per hour. For an electric skateboard, going over 20 miles an hour can be scary, but it is a good thing that you can choose between three different riding modes.
The learning mode makes the Halo 2 suitable for kids and beginners while the standard mode is the more efficient riding mode that allows the board to run efficiently and reach the maximum distance.
The more experienced riders will probably have the most fun on the expert mode, which unleashes the true power of the Halo Board 2 electric skateboard.
Range and Battery Performance
The Halo Board 2 can run up to 14 miles, which is an impressive distance for an electric skateboard. The distance is more than enough to do daily errands. Instead of using a car as a mode of transport, you can use this electric board as an alternative, saving gas and decreasing your carbon footprint.
The battery can get a full charge in three hours, which is pretty fast considering the range of this electric skateboard. Make sure you use the UL certified charger that came with the board to prolong the battery life. The battery is also FireSafe, meaning it is safe from hazards like overheating or catching fire.
Design & Construction Quality
The most notable feature of the Halo skateboard is its unique design and quality build. It is built with high-quality materials that can last for years. The board’s aesthetics look very advanced, making it a great choice for people who want a futuristic board that can shred.
The 31-inch deck is made out of carbon fiber, making the deck super light. Riders will also appreciate the handle carved on to the nose. Instead of lifting the board when not in use, riders can just drag the wheels with the handle.
The 83 mm wheels are big enough to roll smoothly across the pavement, adding up to an excellent ride quality overall. The black wheels fit nicely into the board’s overall look.
The trucks feel very responsive. The board may have this contemporary look, but it still feels like an old-school longboard when you use it for cruising.
The remote control has a good grip and has an LCD of useful board diagnostics, such as a speedometer and battery level. It does not come with a Bluetooth app, but you wouldn’t need it anyway since the remote has everything you need.
The Halo Board 2 has smooth brakes. It is also regenerative, which makes the board charge its battery every time you slow down, making the board really efficient.
You can use the Halo Board 2 as a traditional skateboard and kick to push to your destination to save battery. This cool feature is great to use when you just want to freewheel mild hills or flat terrain.
This board comes with all the necessary safety features you need, such as smooth braking, ultra-bright headlights that can actually help you see at night. It is also equipped with a FireSafe battery that protects the rider from any fire hazards when riding or charging the skateboard.
Brand & Customer Service

- The only downside is the price
Who Should Buy the Halo Board 2 Electric Skateboard?
The Halo Board 2 is suitable for beginners because of the different riding modes, however, we think that this board is aimed for the more serious riders.
Because of its price, we don’t recommend it for people who won’t be maximizing the use of this Halo skateboard. It is for people who plan on using it on a daily basis, and for children who will not outgrow its size.
Because of its durability, versatility, and overall performance, we gave this skateboard an excellent grade of 4.5 out of 5 on our stoke meter.
We could have given it a perfect score, but some factors held us back, such as the range. A 14-mile range is more than enough for short commutes, but the Halo Board 2 would be so much better if it had more range. The price is also a factor, but because of the solid build and materials used to build this Halo skateboard, we think that the price is justified. Aside from those two minor drawbacks, the Halo Board 2 is not “the best,” but still one of the best electric skateboards.
